Project Overview
1. Defined and ideated new (re-)designs for an existing space.
2. Catered designs to three distinct scales of occupation: individuals, groups of 5-10 people, & groups of 25 or more people.
3. Built a 3D model of the site with new designs in SketchUp.
Initial Sketches for Ideation
I came up with 10 sketch ideas, including the final sketch and collage below, on how to improve my site (Armenian Park). I designed them in such a way that it could easily adapt and accommodate different scales of occupation to ensure that the space would be comfortable to all visitors

Personal Project Statement
The idea I chose for this design project was backlane rejuvenation to increase and engage visitors of the park. My ideas for backlane rejuvenation include educational murals regarding the history of the heritage enclave that the park is located in, modular seating arrangements to accommodate visitors ranging from individuals to large groups, pop-up stalls to increase economic activity and attract visitors, and increased lighting to provide a better sense of security. Through this project, I really wanted to create a space that was welcoming and comfortable to all while reducing any undesirable impacts on the surrounding neighborhood and community. The reason behind my choice was because backlanes are untapped spaces with potential to increase connectivity in the neighborhood while enabling social interactions among residents and visitors. Additionally, people are more likely to visit neighborhood parks when they perceive the park to be safe and easy to access on foot, creating a win-win scenario for all.
